Anaconda was NOT nominated for VOTY

Nicki was confused why, since it was a big hit and so many people parodied the cover art..(which has no relations on winning an award)

She then tweeted “if your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for video of the year.

She was referring to Miley Cyrus (Wrecking Ball) the previous nominee.
And now Taylor Swift (Bad Blood) because she is the only “woman that celebrates slim bodies”. That has been nominated for VOTY this year.

So when Taylor tweeted “it’s unlike you to pit women against eachother. Maybe one of the men took your slot”.

She was right. Nicki was pitting women against eachother. Except it had a matter of racism involved in it.

Nicki was going towards how these things can be racist. She compared Miley and herself and how their videos both broke the vevo record, and how they both had a great impact on pop culture, and yet Nicki was NOT nominated. But Miley was.

Now she’s saying that Taylor Swift is the reason Anaconda wasn’t nominated. Because she is a white girl who has a slim body. This is where she is Completely WRONG.

The nominees for VOTY are:

Beyonce (a beautiful and talented black women with a curvy body)

Bruno Mars ( a MAN)

Kendrick Lamar ( a MAN)

Taylor Swift ( a beautiful and talented white women with a slim body)

Nicki’s point on it being racist is invalid
b/c Beyonce was nominated.

AND. Bad Blood BROKE Anaconda’s record, so yeah. It wasn’t a matter of racism. Taylor’s video Broke Nicki’s record.

Taylor’s tweet was right on how maybe Women weren’t the reason Anaconda didn’t get nominated…. Bad Blood broke Anaconda’s record. And what if it wasn’t racist and it was sexist and one of the MEN took her place.

Nicki was keep making complaints on how she wasn’t nominated for ONE award. And tried to make it a racism topic. When it was just that a white womans video happened to beat her record. Nicki was wrong on making this year’s Nominations “racist” since Taylor was nominated for legit reasons. Taylor was wrong about saying Nicki was just pitting women against eachother, and not seeing the racism involved.

You can say that I’m only bullshiting bc I’m a fan of taylor swift and I’m just “kissing up to her”… but I’m not biased. Taylor made ONE TWEET. that didn’t even say much.

Your white privilege is showing. What a dumb fucking post. How come every time a black person wants to talk about race they’re race baiting and just trying to cause trouble? Now she’s wrong bc Beyoncé was nominated so everything’s ok and there’s no racism in the music industry or media. Never did Nicki say anything about Taylor but Taylor comes in and makes it all about her. Nicki was making good points about how black entertainers (especially black female rappers) often don’t get recognition for their work and their impact on pop culture. And she has every right to be mad when she’s getting snubbed for doing the same things white artists are getting awards for.

this post is referring to Nicki’s comments on THIS YEARS nominations. I’m not saying there hasn’t been any racist decisions made in the past. But this year, Taylor got nominated fairly. @juneisafox Sorry, I forgot Asians and blacks are held to equal standards in America and in American media. And my comments are referring to THIS YEAR’S nominations too. If Miley’s video get nominated (and won) last year, Nicki’s should have been nominated for VOY too. But now we’re getting away from the REAL topic at hand. Nicki was talking about racism in the industry and Taylor automatically thought it was about her and felt the need to give her irrelevant opinion. Now instead of this being a black woman vs. the Music industry conversation (as it started out as and was intended to be) it’s now Nicki vs. Taylor and nobody asked for that.
